How does oil drilling affect migratory birds?

Well I actually worked up in Alaska's arctic studying birds right where oil drilling took place. Obviously if there was an oil leak it would affect birds nesting there as it would destroy their food sources and kill their chicks, and maybe make the environment so toxic that birds could not nest there for years. The main affect it has is the garbage the oil drillers cause. I could not believe all the Styrofoam cups and litter across the arctic tundra. There are hundreds of bird species that nest on the tundra, and all this waste draws in predators such as foxes, bears, and predatory birds such as gulls and jaegars, that happen upon nests while eating the human left overs and trash. How does oil drilling affect migratory birds?
birds have been flying around obstructions forever,,,going here and there for food and habitat,so unless they are drilling an very vast area ,,it doesn't,,,,it is just an excuse to whine ,,,,remember deal in facts, not feelings
