Most Americans support offshore drilling, according to recent polls, and that's fine. What's not so fine is that 51 percent of them think that drilling offshore will help lower prices at the pump immediately. It's flat not true.





So where did the inflated one-year estimate come from? Digging a bit, I found it originated with a Fox Business News contributor named Eric Bolling.





Bolling, in turn, got the estimate from an anonymous official with Transocean, the world's biggest offshore drilling company. Think about it. Would a big offshore driller have any reason to promote the idea that offshore drilling would produce measurable oil in as little as a year? Could it possibly have an agenda, one centered on increasing demand for its services and boosting its share price?





These days, everybody has an agenda. Sen. John McCain at every campaign stop urges more offshore drilling right now to ';rescue family budgets,'; as though the mere act of sinking a drillbit into the ocean will start oil bubbling up and gas prices falling. He never mentions the big lag between drilling and production.
When the Democrats are so stupid to not support drilling anywhere where oil potential is greatest, you have un American activity and that is what the Democrats have become. They are more interested is supporting the party than they are saving America. They are no longer the party of the people. That ended with Harry S. Truman and has never been a Democratic trait since then. Even FDR was an ego maniac who never took President Truman into his confidence. That was a Democrat for you. Obama hasn't respected the office of the President so why don't we send him packing to where in hell he ever came from, prior to the Senate.
Because he finally realized that to not be dependent on foreign oil, you have to have the power to drill for our own!
He will change his mind again tomorrow...
