Have oil companies began drilling on the 68 million acres of land that they already have rights to?

Both on land and offshore?Have oil companies began drilling on the 68 million acres of land that they already have rights to?
They have to lease the land first. Then they do seismic and geographical testing to determine if there is oil, and how much. If it is determined there is not enough oil to make it worth the investment, they don't drill. So yes, they have been drilling on proven oil producers. No, where it is shown there is no or little oil deposit.Have oil companies began drilling on the 68 million acres of land that they already have rights to?
They have the lease, they don't want to drill, or explore. But they've managed to convince the Republicans they need more land.

Why? Hard to say. I mean, oil drilled in the US would be sold only to the US wouldn't it? No?

Oh that's right! Oil is a global commodity to be sold on the global market to who's willing to pay more. Looks like China's going to have a lot of the black stuff in a few years.

John McCain is a Liar.

Good point. McCain made a huge issue out of getting land to drill and we already had rights to a $hitload of land. I don't care where they drill. It's not going to solve anything. This is purely a ';psychological'; fix as McCain so eloquently put it.
Probably not. I'm sure some left wing environmental organization is holding up the drilling to save some owl.
why would they before or after the election as more profits in high prices
No.. they have only bitched about not having ';enough';.

Geee... go figure!
no but they want more.
no
