What exactly is the point of drilling for more oil?

We are already drilling and we currently only keep about 3% of our supply and sell the rest. Why not just keep more?What exactly is the point of drilling for more oil?
because the republicans want the american citizens to think that something is being done about the high gas prices.





they know that drilling for more oil won't solve our problem--at least not for another 10 years.

Alootta reasons.. Possibly even an effort to pay off our debts.. But mainly becuz the republicans want to get as much oil land as poosible before Bush gets out of office





McCain wants to end the ban on offshore drilling becuz ';we need it now'; but that oil wouldnt be available to buy for 10 years!! They think we're stupid man

The point is so that Bush/Cheney will not have to worry about it, all of the generations after them will have to work on alternative fuel.
