How is the Bush administration justifying the drilling for oil in the ANWR?

if you have a link or something to a website that has the answer that would be very much abloiged! How is the Bush administration justifying the drilling for oil in the ANWR?
Why the h*ll do we have to be justified to drill for oil?

Want gas in your car that doesn't cost $4.00 gal?How is the Bush administration justifying the drilling for oil in the ANWR?
First off were not drilling there yet.

Second we have oil in ANWR and the US should go after all sources of energy, so we can get off foreign oil.
Duh, because we need the oil, and the envrionmental impact would be almost nothing, Drill here, Drill now, lower prices.
Um, something to the effect of, it's a barren wasteland and it has billions of barrels of oil. Isn't that enough? It's also something like .0001% of the total area of ANWR.
It's simple

Most people confuse No New drilling locations with no drilling.
Here are plenty of good reasons:

I thought they weren't - but if they are - great!
He says nothing on this matter. He is packing up and getting ready to go home. He could not care less about drilling or anything else in Washington. He just wants everybody to quit bugging him, man.
so we don't give billions to terrorists in the middle east

there is no drilling in ANWR and isn't going to be -- both Presidential candidates are opposed.

of course, this being politics and all -- that's a foolish position. The proposed drilling area in ANWR is about the same proportion as a postage stamp is to an 8 x 11 manila envelope.

further, the count of caribou and other wildlife in the Prudhoe bay area is HIGHER after drilling than it was before. Seems critters are smart and detect the heat of the pipeline in winter and therefore choose to be in the area.
