What's with Harry Reid extending the ban on off shore drilling and oil shale development?

In a continuing resolution he slipped in extending the bans on offshore drilling and development of western oil shale. Didn't he get the memo that we don't care for $4 dollar plus gas? What's with Harry Reid extending the ban on off shore drilling and oil shale development?
He's an idiot for trying this BS at this time.

Democrat Senate Leader Harry Reid has decided to sneak an extension of the oil shale ban through as Congress fights over the financial bailout. Oil shale in America鈥檚 West is estimated to hold be between 800 billion and 2 trillion barrels of oil 鈥?that is more than three times the proven oil reserves in Saudi Arabia alone.

He's been involved with both congress and the senate since the early eighties. He should have made enough money by now from all the breaks he's given to his Nevada ';sources'; that he should retire and stop clowning around with the rest of us.

Somebody needs to ask Harry Reid how blocking private companies from creating good jobs and lowering the cost of energy for millions of American families will do anything to get our economy back on track. No wonder Congressional approval levels are at historic lows and we find ourselves in this economic situation.

Every Senator (D%26amp;R) who truly cares about an economic recovery should tell Harry Reid to remove this cynical provision from his so-called 鈥榚conomic stimulus鈥?bill immediately, and if he refuses to do so, they should vote against this bill. Regardless, his constituents should recall him and ban him from representation. What's with Harry Reid extending the ban on off shore drilling and oil shale development?
The democrats are in bed with the enviormental whackos, Gore educated, while few in number, they are a threat to our extinction, they want to protect the spotted owl and wooley worm and to hell with us human beings. Oh, I forgot the polar bear and the grey wolves. Report Abuse

For lack of a nicer answer, he's a whore to the progressive movement.

I mean that in the best way, just like Bill Frist is a whore to the neo-conservative movement. Let me explain.

He's convinced that his constituency is much more liberal than it really is, so he makes decisions based on what he thinks will get him elected next terms.

This includes being against offshore drilling, even if it would put more oil and natural gas into the marketplace.

I think that people are going to be voting these clowns out en masse this November.
But high gas prices are good for the environment. Forget about inflation.
