What do you guys think about oil drilling in oceans?

im doing a debate on oil drilling in oceans. i need both pro and con. opinions are great, but i also need some resources from like research by scientists,experts and such. thank you!What do you guys think about oil drilling in oceans?
The world needs oil and will continue to do so for a long time. Offshore exploration and production is done carefully, cleanly, and safely 99.999999% of the time.


As for resources - google ';offshore exploration'; ';offhshore production'; etc. There is a ton of data out there.What do you guys think about oil drilling in oceans?
Nearly all of the easily discovered and recoverable oil has been found. Although we need to move forward on alternative energy sources, for now and in the foreseeable future, oil is going to be our most prevalent energy source. Unless we want to sit in our caves, freezing and in the dark, we need to open up oil exploration in the oceans and any other likely areas to prospect in.
