How long does it take to build Oil Drilling Rigs?

Apparently the Republicans are prepared to continue paying high gas prices for the long run. What ways do you think they will come up to pay for the rigs? Its a good idea, but lets face it..It's going to take Time and Money...How much more can America take? How long does it take to build Oil Drilling Rigs?
a fair question ... the answer is months to years [deep sea drilling variety].

of course, during those months to years, iron miners will have work. so will steelmakers and railroadmen. Then the rig fabricators will have work.

After they're built, there will be work for more oil drillers.

When they find oil, there'll be more work as pipelines are fabricated and laid and then refineries operated [and even more jobs if refineries are built].

conservation creates jobs for lawyers and PR hacks whose job is to get you to reduce usage even if it cramps you at the grocery store or kills your job.

doesn't energy production seem like a good idea? How long does it take to build Oil Drilling Rigs?
About 10 years to bring them online.

But you act like there is an alternative, that can be switched to right now.

And there isn't.

Even investing in alternative energy sources, does not guarantee they will be developed in 10 years,

Nor that any that might be, could be become widespread throughout the US in only 10 years,

Or any cheaper than gasoline.
