I read a news story about a US Judge blocking oil drilling in a Michigan forest http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080712/ap_o鈥?/a>
But I know lots of landowners who would love to have an oil well on their land if the money be in it... so why is oil drilling so hazadous to the environment%26gt;What kind of ecological damage does oil drilling on land actually do?
Ecological damage? A very small footprint. Spilling oil all over the land??? The oil companies don't like to do that, they sell the stuff why spill it? The same goes with offshore drilling.
Drill here! Drill now! Pay less!
The price of oil goes down, our dependence on foreign oil goes down, everybody but OPEC loves the idea. What kind of ecological damage does oil drilling on land actually do?
To be honest, I hardly believe their is any ';damage';. I think its just those nature freaks that don't want it to happen. If anything ';bad'; actually happens, all we did is mess up the landscape, which probably affects how the animals survive there. (loss of habitat, food supply, etc)
